Classic Homemade Meatloaf (Print Version)

Ingredients:

01 - 1 large egg.
02 - 1/3 cup milk.
03 - 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce.
04 - 1/2 cup plain breadcrumbs.
05 - 1 tsp Italian seasoning.
06 - 1/2 tsp garlic powder.
07 - 1 tsp salt.
08 - 1/4 tsp black pepper.
09 - 1/2 cup chopped onion.
10 - 1.5 lbs ground beef (85/15).
11 - 1/2 cup ketchup.
12 - 1 Tbsp brown sugar.
13 - 1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce.
14 - 1 tsp yellow mustard.

Instructions:

01 - Heat oven to 350ºF.
02 - Mix egg, milk, and Worcestershire sauce in a small bowl.
03 - In another bowl, mix breadcrumbs, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
04 - Chop up the onion.
05 - Put the beef, egg mix, seasoned breadcrumbs, and onion in a big bowl. Mix everything together with your hands until it's combined, but don't overmix or it'll get tough.
06 - Put the meat on a baking pan and shape it into a loaf about 4 inches wide, 8 inches long, and 2 inches tall.
07 - Mix the topping ingredients in a bowl: ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, and mustard.
08 - Spread the topping all over the top and sides of the loaf.
09 - Bake for 50-55 minutes until it hits 165ºF inside.
10 - Let it sit for 5-10 minutes before cutting.

Notes:

01 - Makes about 10 slices.
02 - Make sure it's 165ºF in the middle so you know it's done.
